Safety guidelines

• All paddlers are required to wear a US Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD) which is provided with each boat rental.
• Maintain a safe distance between boats to allow for safe paddle movement.
• Avoid paddling under low-hanging limbs.
• Follow instructions of guides and lock operators when entering or exiting locks.
• Remain seated in boat at all times.
• Avoid overexposure to sun.
• Be sure plugs are in place and hatches covered.
• Do not overestimate your abilities.
• Be mindful of changing weather, tides, and currents.
• Avoid areas where swimmers, surfers, or other boats are present.
• Be mindful of natural hazards.
