Paddle, peddle & hike

Join us for a three day, two night, soft adventure excursion to Southwest Virginia. At the beginning of our adventure, we will kayak the French Broad River near beautiful Asheville, North Carolina.  At the conclusion of the kayaking and a relaxing lunch, we will continue on to the Nature Conservancy’s mountain top lodge in Dungannon, Virginia.

Day two will bring an enjoyable day of bike riding on the Virginia Creeper Trail- a leisurely 21 mile downhill bike ride winding around White Top Mountain. At the conclusion of the bike ride, we will proceed to a local winery for a relaxing wine tasting and an informative tour of the vineyard.

On day three, we will hike Natural Tunnel State Park where you may hike or take the chair lift to view the fabulous gorge. Picture taking opportunities abound at each event.

The Rikemo Lodge has:

• five bedrooms, each containing two double beds and a private bath
• large kitchen
• dining room
• great room encouraging socializing and leisure
• large front porch overlooking the Clinch River

Pricing Structure is dependant on group size. For example:

• Two occupants per room - $175/person per night.  (Total $350 per person)
• Three occupants per room - cost $150/person per night. (Total $300 per person)
• Four occupants per room - $125/person per night. (Total $250 per person)

Minimum occupancy to reserve lodge - 10 people
Maximum occupancy - 20 people

Fee covers:

• lodging
• linens
• meals
• activities and related equipment required for activities, including admission fees, reservations fees, and gratuities

The fee does not cover:

• travel expenses
• fuel
• special dietary requirements
• alcoholic beverages
• souvenirs
• unrelated entertainment

• Guest River Gorge
• Breaks Interstate Park

Occasionally groups of unlike interests may request to reserve the lodge on the same dates.  If this situation concerns you, please call and confidentially discuss your concerns with us.  We will evaluate the situation and make judgment as needed.

Customizing a trip just for your group is possible if your group has at least 10 participants and is the exclusive tenant of the lodge. (i.e. - hiking, biking, or kayaking multiple days instead of three different activities)
