About us

Since 1994, the Nexsen family has owned and operated Blackwater Adventures. Our family roots in the new world span many generations as Carolina natives.

Blackwater Adventures was begun as a touring service to acquaint our guests with the rich, natural beauty and history of our regions lakes, rivers, and coastal waters. Currently, we offer over 30 scenic and informative tours which include all major rivers on South Carolina’s coastal plain. Additionally, we offer canoe and kayak sales, rentals, repairs, full-moon excursions, overnight outings and kayak surf instruction. Expedition quality paddle and PFD are provided with all tours and rentals.

Should you have an interest in a waterway not included in our itinerary, contact us and we will gladly research it for you.

Over the years, our guests have included the US Navy Nuclear School, congressional office staffs, numerous conservation groups, and emissaries of several European countries; but our most flattering accomplishment has been hosting outings for several local paddle clubs.
